Roel’s passion for Waldorf education led him to begin his teaching career in 2011 at the Rudolf Steiner College in Rotterdam, where he made significant contributions not only as a history and social science teacher but also by introducing innovative courses such as Big History and Big Thinkers. His commitment to education was further demonstrated through his active participation in the school’s pedagogical section, organizing educational trips across Europe, and mentoring students through many capstone projects.
Recognizing the importance of continual growth, Roel pursued a second master’s degree in education at the ICLON graduate school of teaching, complemented by in-house training to become a Waldorf teacher.
Roel’s dedication to the principles of Waldorf education brought him to the United States, where he taught at Wasatch Waldorf Charter School. There, he assumed the role of Team Lead for the middle school, teaching grades 3-8 and mentoring fellow educators.
Now serving as the Education Director at Credo High School, Roel is committed to ensuring that the principles and practices of Waldorf education are deeply embedded in the school’s culture. His vision is to create an educational environment that honors the individuality of each student, nurtures their intellectual and emotional development, and prepares them to contribute thoughtfully and creatively to the world.

She is now the mother of two young adults, both Credo graduates. Jodi has been working at Credo since 2012 and continues to find deep joy in welcoming students and families to Waldorf education at Credo High School.
