CREDO HIGH SCHOOL IS A PUBLIC charter school that calls on the proven principles of Waldorf education to deliver a college-prep program that ad vances critical thinking, creativity, responsibility, and initiative in public school students. We help students develop the capacities, compassion and values to be come effective leaders ready to address tomorrow’s challenges. Credo is a public high school that gives more, that asks for more, and that prepares its stu dents to achieve more.

Founded in 2011 to complete the K-8 education of fered by our region’s six exemplary Waldorf char ter schools, Credo is raising the bar for public high schools in Sonoma County—and establishing a repli cable new model for public high schools nationwide.

CREDO IS IN ITS FRAGILE EARLY LIFE. Start-up investments, laying the foundation for growth and success, exceed state funding of $6,500 per student for the first four years as we grow from an initial fresh man class of 42 to eventual full enrollment of 640. Based on projections and our experience in founding K-8 schools, we expect Credo to break even in year five and run a budget surplus in all subsequent years. In the short term, while we are young and fragile, we urgently need your help.

THE WALDORF HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM, which costs from $17,000 to $34,000 in California private schools, has a powerful track record of preparing students for college and beyond. Now, at Credo High, this opportu nity is available for the first time to public school students.

• One hundred percent of Credo graduates will meet qualifications to apply to the University of California (vs. 31% of public high school graduates statewide).

• A full offering of fine and practical arts—including media arts, drawing, printmaking, painting and sculpting—and of practical skills—such as financial literacy, CPR, first aid, basic carpentry, blacksmithing, biodynamic farming and food lit eracy—complements our rigorous academics.

• A core value around sustainability teaches students to be responsible stewards of the earth.

• A rich social-emotional curriculum teaches all students to communicate, collaborate, resolve conflict, build consensus and support one another.

WE NEED YOUR HELP IN BUILDING Credo’s financial foundation. We have a very experienced administrative team, an outstanding faculty, dedicated students and par­ents, the support of our authorizer, the Cotati-Rohnert Park School District, and a beautiful campus. We need your fi nancial support to supplement our state funding in the fragile first four years while we grow our enrollment. Your help now will enable us to break even in 2015-16 and be gin to graduate students in 2015—college-bound students who are creative and responsible critical thinkers with the abilities to address the world’s problems with imagination, compassion and confidence.
