Adventure Learning

Credo offers adventure.

Spending time outside of the classroom--in nature, in our local community, in other communities regionally and worldwide--builds capacities and interests beyond academic success.

Beginning with ninth grade orientation, when cohort guides take cohorts on an initiatory adventure learning excursion, students experience challenge courses, travel and activities that build confidence, respect, knowledge, empathy and connections to the greater world.

Ninth grade students usually take a 4-day, 3-night backpacking trip, accompanied by their cohort guides, other Credo staff members and commonly professional outdoor educators. In 2011-12, student hiked over 25 miles in the Pt. Reyes National Seashore.
