Dear Prospective Credo Parents,
Credo High School will provide a rigorous college prep program utilizing a curriculum inspired by Waldorf education. This program prepares your children to meet the demands of an ever-changing world by offering a comprehensive, developmental education designed to meet and exceed all University of California A-G entrance requirements as well as develop the capacities required of a 21st century adult.
You have chosen Credo from among the many educational options available in Sonoma County. Thank you. In doing so you also accept certain responsibilities, to your children, to your school community and to Credo.
In order for Credo to deliver on its commitment to offer an exceptional education experience, we need to ensure that adequate funding is available to support our varied programs. I believe, deep down, as parents and community members, we recognize how important education is to our society. We also know, quality education comes at a cost. At Credo, we know the cost of delivering our program is $9,500 per child. We know that to have a comparable education at a private institution a family would need to pay from $17,000 to $33,000 per year at Bay Area schools.
As educators, community leaders and parents, we are grateful that the State of California provides some support--about 65% of the total. This state support provides our charter school only the foundation of an exceptional college preparatory high school program that is accessible to all. Credo cannot offer the academically exceptional Waldorf curriculum on state funding alone. As parents, we have to make a choice. Do we want this education for our sons or daughters? If so, then I believe, we are making a good choice that comes with responsibility. That responsibility is to help fund Credo’s program so that our children can have the excellence of the Waldorf curriculum. If not us as parents, then who?
At Credo, our request is that every family make a voluntary monthly donation in support of the school. We know that for some this will be difficult, and we stress that such donations are voluntary. If you can help, we know that it will be one of the best investments you will make in your child's future.
Credo’s administration takes very seriously its obligation to be good stewards of all the funding the school receives--state and donated. We will work diligently to ensure your donations are put to work in support of your children and the other children of our community. We will be efficient, careful and protective of every dollar.
Please take time today to consider making a monthly pledge.
Thank you,
Steve Bossio, CFO
